Description
M1916 bayonet with full length blade and early M1894/12 LONG LEATHER scabbard and frog. Estimated scabbard production was only 3,000 for the original long M1894 bayonet with fullers running the full length of the blade but examples with matching numbers to M1916 bayonets do exist although this set does not match. Blade remains unsharpened. Scabbard stitching remains tight and intact except for a few popped stitches in the frog end. The leather is still supple and strong. Janzen originally identified the bayonet it as "M1894/14" and corrected it in his end notes.
