Description
M1916 Gendarmerie bayonet with scabbard. Original M1916 type hilt and large muzzle ring for M1889 rifles and carbines with barrel jackets. This one is actually made with a recycle French M74 Gras blade and you can still see some of the French marking on the spine. Scabbard is unusual having a smaller than normal ball tip and the throat is retained with a screw on the side of the scabbard like a WWII German bayonet as opposed to the normal Belgian front and back rivets.
