12964 GEW1888 Double Edged bayonet. WKC ricasso marking. SEE LISTING UNDER CHINA
13594 S98/05nA bayonet with scabbard. ACT. GES. VORM. FRISTER & ROSSMANN BERLIN W17. Blade is unsharpened. There is a number "32" added to the scabbard body and a number "2" added to the spine in a slightly different font. Scabbard has pitting and blade has some spots of old pitting.
14030 S98/05 bayonet FROG ONLY. Pocket rivets missing and reinforced with added stitching. Faint unit mark on back reads Pb 85 as best I can tell which I believe is police.
14364 M1862 Dreyse triform socket bayonet. Has been rusted and wire wheeled leaving a rough exterior that is well represented in the close pic of the ricasso. There are a few nicks on the shank, especially where it meets the socket. Again, see pic. Otherwise undamaged and locking ring turns freely.
14558 S98/05aAmS LEATHER bodied scabbard only. Has the unique throatpiece specifically for the sawback bayonet. Leather is shrunk 14mm and has a fold 1/3 of the way down from the throat. The throatpiece is missing it's staples and is detached but the leather is undamaged. The tip remains attached with staples intact but does wiggle. Top and bottom fitting have been painted black and have rust, dings and pitts.
14805 S71/84 bayonet with scabbard. Odd variation with shorter fuller and no Imperial markings at all. The ricasso is marked "M88" over "OBERND" over "G". The scabbard is an all steel type similar to the Imperial S84/98 scabbard but with a different throatpiec. Grips are retained with dome headed rivets in washers. Blade has been ground on and the frogstud is missing from the scabbard. The backstrap of the tang is pitted and the grips are warped out from it. (see pic).
14954 M1862 Dreyse triform socket bayonet. BAVARIAN "Crown O" and "Crown RC" on ricasso.
15058 Bavarian S98/05nA bayonet with scabbard. FICHTEL & SACHS SCHWEINFURT with L18 spine mark. Blade remains unsharpened. Scabbard has a large dent in the back but function is not impeded at all.
15059 S14 bayonet with scabbard. SAMSON WERK
15094 S14 bayonet with scabbard. SAMSON WERK. Blade has been sharpened and there are some grinder marks. The marks on the tip are the worst and are pictured below. Scabbard has a large dent on each side but function is not affected, the blade inserts and withdraws all the way and smoothly.
15098 Zinc Ersatz scabbard only for captured Russian Ob.91 bayonets. I have inserted a bayonet to test it and it fits perfectly.
15104 SAXON S71/84 bayonet with scabbard. WEYERSBERG, KIRSCHBAUM & CO. SOLINGEN. AR87 spine mark. Crossguard unit marked 15.J.4.164. Scabbard is mismatched with unit mark 129.R.12.142. Blade has minor sharpening on the forward half but is not ground up badly. Left grip has 6 notches cut into it along the finger edge near the crossguard. (see last picture).
15105 PRUSSIAN S71/84 bayonet with MATCHING scabbard. WEYERSBERG, KIRSCHBAUM & CO. SOLINGEN. W88 spine mark. Both crossguard and scabbard are unit marked 21.R.5.19. Blade has been sharpened but not ground. Scabbard leather has shrunk leaving 4mm of the ricasso exposed when the blade is inserted as far as it will go. (see last picture)
15106 PRUSSIAN S71/84 bayonet with scabbard. P.D. LUNESCHLOSS SOLINGEN. W88 spine mark. Crossguard unit marked 93.R.E.1.240. Scabbard is mismatched with unit mark 70.R.E.2.32. Blade has been badly sharpened and all steel surfaces of the bayonet have shallow pitting. The scabbard is in much better condition.
15181 BAVARIAN S98/05aA bayonet with scabbard. FICHTEL & SACHS SCHWEINFURT with L17 spine mark. Low ears on crossguard. '17 seems a bit late for an aA to me but there it sits in front of me.
15288 PRUSSIAN S71/84 bayonet. Maker mark and inspectors marks on the pommel
have been removed. W88 spine mark and inspection mark on the crossguard remain
intact. Blade remains unsharpened and has a few isolated pitts that show up
black in the pictures. Grips remain tight but have some wear and gouges around
the rivets and on the right side near the pommel. The number 89 or 68 is carved
into the left grip.
15293 S71/84 Dress bayonet. FUNCTIONAL and in poor condition with badly
sharpened blade and flaking plating.
15398 S84/98 bayonet with scabbard. JA HENCKLES with W16 spine mark. The very tip of the blade is snapped off but not so far then it couldn't be repointed to look presentable. I'll leave that to the next owner. The real value is in the nice Imperial scabbard. For some odd reason the blade is magnetic now.
15399 S71 bayonet with scabbard W.R. KIRSCHBAUM SOLINGEN with W74 spine mark. Left side of hilt has been bashed up and the release button is broken off of the rest of the catch. Blade has mild pitting. Scabbard stitching is intact, throatpiece is dented in the back and the leather has shrunk 6mm. See the last picture for how much of the ricasso is left exposed.
15488 FAKE S98/05 bayonet
scabbard. Very poor fake that will not even accept the S98/05 blade due to the
throat opening being too small. Any blade slightly more narrow will fit.
15489 Pressed Hilt ersatz bayonet. OTB REF#2311. Fullered blade remains
unsharpened. Hilt characterized by a flattened pommel butt with blunt nose,
contoured finger edge, 1 piece original crossguard with 1 stage muzzle ears and
attached by 1 pin which may vary in position from approximately centered to
offset several millimeters closer to the finger edge. 2 pommel block pins spaced
13mm apart. 2 tang pins mounted 18mm and 31mm back from the front of the
crossguard. Reverse lug catch is 15.5mm long. This shorter lug catch is a fast
way to differentiate these from many similar looking models. Hilt retains about
30% of the original feldgrau paint.
15277 WEIMAR S98/05 bayonet FROG ONLY. DATED 1925. All 4 rivets remain intact
but most of the stitching is popped on the back strap. the stitching holding the
pocket in place is solid. Leather remains supple.
14622 S84/98 bayonet with DUAL YEAR/FACTORY MISMATCHED scabbard. NEAR MINT. Bayonet is marked 43asw with sn 6517u. Scabbard is marked 44asw with sn 6567u. SINGLE WaA518 on pommel. Finish is wonderfully crude late war 1943-1944 transitional production. Red bakelite grips retained with typical screws in split nuts. The 43/44 bayonet and scabbard combinations are hard enough to find but the mis-struck 3rd digit in the serial numbers is just fantastic. Note that I am saying this IS a matching set that was misnumbered at the factory.
14720 S84/98 leather frog. Carter's number 311. Dark brown leather, probably Luftwaffe, with 2 slots cutout in the face of the frog for a retention strap but the strap was either removed or never added. 4 aluminum rivets at the weak points but one is a bubba replacement using a pop rivet. Marked on the back "5.3" in a box over "1" There is some popped stitching but the seams remain solid and leather is pliable and sturdy with no crazing.
15312 Luftwaffe S84/98 bayonet FROG ONLY. Brown rough leather with no readable markings.
15321 Luftwaffe S84/98 bayonet FROG ONLY MAX KOLBENSTEM ABMERG WARTH 1940 ?
Brown leather with 4 aluminum rivets.
15328 S84/98 bayonet with scabbard. KREIGSMARINE W.K.C. 37 Both scabbard and
bayonet have Ostsee fleet marks but they do not match. Blade remains
15401 S84/98 bayonet FROG ONLY. Black leather with retaining strap and body reinforced by 4 aluminum rivets. The only marking is "RBNn0/03757003" on the inside of the retaining strap. Good used condition with no defects to note.
15493 S84/98 bayonet cof 43. Blade remains unsharpened. 90%+ bluing intact.
Gouge on backstrap edge of left grip
15520 S84/98 bayonet with matching scabbard. Dual year asw 43 bayonet with SN
186u and scabbard marked asw 44 with SN 9186u. Excellent condition and
unsharpened with strong bluing. These dual year pieces are always interesting
especially with the "9" dropped of the SN on the bayonet.
14784 S103f bayonet with scabbard. STEEL grip. Former French Mle. 1886/16 steel hilt bayonet shortened by the Germans with scabbard shortened correspondingly and a round tip installed and retained by a pin.
15402 S22p bayonet with scabbard. Rare Polish WZ22 that the Germans blued but is otherwise unmolested. Zbr4 ricasso marking intact and scabbard has not been altered.
15483 S24j bayonet with scabbard. Former Yugo M1924 converted by the Germans
by removing the muzzle ring, bluing the bayonet and moving the throatpiece
retaining screw to the side in the German fashion. Blade remains unsharpened.
Hilt is devoid of finish and scabbard has been painted gloss black. Scabbard has
a few dents but function is not affected.

13753 STEN MKII Bayonet with scabbard and frog. B&J.S.L. on the spring. GUARANTEED FAKE. Frog is a later green one but dated 1945. Graham Priest identified these as high quality fakes in his book "Spirit of the Pike". It truly is a remarkable reproduction and I was fooled when I bought it from a seller who readily identified it as a fake. Despite that, I still thought it was genuine until I fixed it on a STEN MkII SMG and found it ill fitting compared to bona fide genuine examples I have on hand. The "tell" when mounting it is that the real ones lock up tight and these fakes rattle up and down the barrel a few millimeters. This is not one of the current production fakes which can be spotted a mile away by their flat finger guard. Great piece for a re-enactor or someone interested in documenting fakes.
13767 P1907 bayonet with scabbard. HOOK QUILLON Wilkinson 3/09. Pommel marked S.L. over R454. Blade it really rough having been badly pitted. Hilt is better but the right grip is pretty beaten up.

The following lot of No.4 MKII spike bayonets are in SURPLUS condition at worst. Rather than investing time in taking individual pictures I've decided to just show a group picture to give you an idea about the condition range and sell them for less than I would if I had to invest the time taking detailed pictures. As a bonus you can have the packing grease on them for free;-) The ones labeled NO SIGNIFICANT MARKINGS may or may not have N67 codes or be stamped MADE IN ENGLAND. If it matters to you let me know when you order and I'll do my best to meet your preferences.

15117 P1858 Marine Artillery Sword bayonet. According to Skennerton BCB163 Very much like other P1856 type bayonets these can be differentiated by the larger than normal MRID of 21mm (actual measured example was 21.3mm) Originally designated P1858 the nomenclature was changed to the noun nomenclature "MARINE ARTILLERY SWORD BAYONET" Skennerton's description of these is a bit murky but he alludes to the modified pommel without stating what the actual modification was. Blade remains unsharpened and grips are solid and tight.
