Description
Siamese Issued RG1888/95 bayonet with scabbard and frog. OEWG ricasso mark and Siamese serial number on the butt of the pommel. There is also a western serial number 7279 on the right side of the crossguard. For former RG88 rifles updated by Austria during WWI by installing an M1895 barrel. Identical to M1888 bayonet but with smaller 15mm MRID. Siamese markings on the butt of the pommel. Unsharpened blade and still retains its original Austrian grips held by dome headed rivets in washers. Absolutely no Austrian property markings. I can find no record of Siam using this rifle but here is a clearly Siamese issued bayonet for it. The scabbard is made by V&N and so marked on the frog hook but bears no Austrian property marks.
