Description
Movie Prop former French Mle.1886/16 bayonet made by REMINGTON. BRASS hooked quillon added. Marked S on both sides of the crossguard for STEMBRIDGE GUN RENTALS in Hollywood. The butt of the pommel that fits into the rifle’s retaining cup has been reduced in diameter so the bayonet could not be returned to military use. These can be seen clearly in use in the 1939 Gary Cooper movie Beau Geste.
