Description

M1874/95 Carbine bayonet with scabbard. Chilean conversion of M74 Gras bayonet marked WAFFENFABRIK STEYR 1885 on the spine of the blade. The conversion consists of adding a higher 15.5mm mrid muzzle ring and shaving the back of the pommel along the mortise slot. These are INCORRECTLY identified in most books as a Chilean M1885 Kropatscheck bayonet but they are actually a conversion specifically for the Chilean M1895 Mauser Carbine although it will also mount on the M95 Short Rifle and Standard model rifle. The scabbard is also a correct Chilean contract scabbard with no markings whatsoever.
